Description
The Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA) has created a standard for small form factor peripherals called PC Cards. PCMCIA publishes a detailed specification called the PC Card Standard. While providing great detail on the mechanical, electrical, and logical requirements for PC Cards and their hosts, this standard provides little in the form of real world design information. This is where The PCMCIA Developer's Guide comes in. This comprehensive guide to the PC Card Standard covers all aspects of PC Card product design including card/host hardware and software design. Extensive directory information lists the sources for cards, components, development tools and software. CD-ROM enclosed contains PC Card related utilities, manufacturer datasheets and sample source code. This third edition includes new information on CardBus, Zoomed Video, CompactFlash, SmartMedia, and Miniature Card.
